Who manages the Extractives Hub?

The Extractives Hub is managed by a team that includes Adam Smith International (ASI), the Centre for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP) at the University of Dundee, Open Oil, and Skotkonung. 

ASI is one of the leading institutions involved in building the capacity of developing country governments in the extractives sector. Its staff have participated in numerous mining, energy and petroleum projects in Africa and Asia. ASI provides strategic advice and implements complex reform programmes to support governments in maximising resource revenue, increasing employment and delivering equitable economic growth in resource rich developing countries.

CEPMLP is an internationally renowned graduate school in the field of international business transactions and natural resources and energy law and policy. With over 37 years of experience, CEPMLP’s interdisciplinary approach to teaching, research and consultancy provides a unique perspective on how governments, business and communities operate. Apart from traditional postgraduate teaching, the CEPMLP offers a programme of seminars, conferences and professional development courses attended by delegates from government, ministries, academia and industry. 

Open Oil is a Berlin-based consultancy which provides commercial and financial data and analysis of natural resources to governments and civil society. Using the FAST financial modelling standard, OpenOil has engaged in tax gap analysis, negotiation support and revenue forecasting for six governments, and a wide range of international actors, such as development agencies and regional banks, and created the largest library of open source financial models of natural resource projects in the world. Since 2011 Open Oil has produced 20 reference works which have been downloaded over 600,000 times, and conducted studies on beneficial ownership, commodity trading, and a range of other resource governance issues.
